Dr. Brian D. & Heather Farley

Executive Ministry Biography

Dr. Brian D. and Heather Farley have served together in pastoral ministry, church planting, evangelism, leadership development, missions, and church revitalization for more than three decades. Their ministry has spanned local churches, denominational leadership, urban missions, leadership training, and multi-generational ministry development across the United States and three different IPHC conferences.

Both Brian and Heather were raised in traditional Pentecostal Christian homes and became actively involved in ministry leadership during their teenage years. In high school, Brian exhibited early leadership skills when he was elected as the vice president of the 10,000 member Cooperative Education Clubs of Florida and was chosen for mentoring sessions with the  Governor of Florida. The Farleys were strongly influenced by the Brownsville Revival since they are originally from Pensacola, Florida. They were married at age eighteen and continued serving in church ministry through youth pastoring, children’s ministry, worship ministry, evangelism, and discipleship.

Shortly after marriage, Brian enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated leadership and academic distinction in information technology. While in the Air Force, Brian was a protestant chapel guide, an honor graduate and was chosen for a special assignment due to graduating first in his class. During his military service, he became a licensed exhorter minister in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) and served as a youth pastor in Montgomery, Alabama. Following his honorable discharge, the Farleys accepted their first full-time ministry assignment as youth and associate pastors at Forest Hill Church of God in Mobile, Alabama.

During their years in youth ministry leadership, the Farleys led rapidly growing ministries that impacted thousands of students through evangelistic events, discipleship initiatives, and revival services. At Forest Hill Church of God, more than 3,000 students attended two major youth events, resulting in more than 220 recorded salvations. Heather also emerged as a respected worship leader during this season and was selected to participate in Church of God Campmeeting worship ministries.

For a period after Forest Hill Church of God, the Farleys pastored a small church in Lehigh Acres, Florida and then were assigned to Dowling Park Church of God, Live Oak, Florida. In this extremely rural environment, the church reached 300 people for the first time ever on Easter of 1999.

The Farleys were then unexpectedly called to be the Student Ministries Pastor at Cathedral Christian Center Church of God in Phoenix, Arizona, one of the denomination’s largest congregations at the time with over 5,200 members. Brian oversaw a team of 15 pastors and youth workers where the youth group doubled in size. In Arizona they also served in statewide denominational roles on the state youth committee, leading music for state campmeeting and worship at Southwest Winterfest Youth Conference for the region.

Church Planting & Conference Leadership

In 2000, the Farleys returned to Pensacola, Florida, to plant a church in their hometown. In 2001, the newly planted congregation merged with a struggling church in nearby Cantonment, Florida, forming Harvest Christian Center IPHC.

Over the next fourteen years, Harvest Christian Center experienced substantial growth and became a thriving multi-generational ministry. During this season, the church:

  • Saw more than 258 water baptisms and hundreds of documented salvations
  • Expanded through multiple building projects
  • Developed a youth ministry approaching 200 students weekly
  • Matured to a weekly attendance of more than 400 unique attendees for more than four years (in four services)
  • Recorded holiday attendance of up to 1,400 attendees during major weekends
  • Established a School of Ministry that equipped more than 40 ministry leaders including pastors, youth pastors, worship leaders, elders, and deacons
  • Developed the Harvest Food Bank, which became one of the largest feeding ministries in North Escambia County, Florida
  • Grew the pastoral and paid staff to eight

During this period, Brian and Heather also served extensively in conference leadership within Alpha Ministries Conference IPHC, including roles in:

  • Church Planting and Revitalization Director
  • Conference Youth Camp Director
  • Credentials Committee Member
  • Camp-meeting Worship Music Leadership
  • Conference Executive Council

Heather served in worship leadership for conference IPHC events and participated in the worship team for the 2009 IPHC General Conference.

Pastoral Leadership & Missionary Service

In 2014, the Farleys accepted the pastorate of Faith Chapel IPHC in Huntsville, Alabama, a historic congregation known as the home to the North Alabama Charismatic Renewal movement. During their ministry there, the church experienced renewed growth, leadership development, major facility improvements, and the establishment of another School of Ministry that helped raise up emerging ministry leaders. More than 40 were baptized and 55 joined the church.

In 2017, under the leadership of Bishop Garry Bryant and Evangelism USA, the Farleys were appointed as full-time missionaries to New York City. Over the next seven years, they ministered extensively through ministry to Muslims, evangelism, homeless outreach, discipleship, encouraging and mentoring pastors, and house church planting in both Midtown Manhattan and Staten Island.

Their years in New York City coincided with the unprecedented challenges of being in the American epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic while serving near Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Through those difficult years, the Farleys continued faithfully serving pastors, churches, and hurting communities in one of the most challenging ministry environments in America.

During this season, in 2021, as route leaders for “Prayer at the Heart of America” which called for revival in America, God opened doors for the Farleys to lead prayer rallies with hundreds of people on the capitol steps with state lawmakers in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, at Brownsville Assembly and with Assemblies of God Superintendent Rev. Doug Clay and the Executive Leadership of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, MO.

Church Revitalization

In 2024, the Farleys accepted the call to lead Tidewater Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, formerly First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Portsmouth. At the time, the congregation had declined to twelve attendees and faced the possibility of closure.

Through revitalization efforts focused on prayer, evangelism, discipleship, worship renewal, and community outreach, the church has experienced renewed growth, salvations, baptisms, Spirit-filled ministry, leadership development, and restored momentum for the future.

Family

Brian and Heather are the parents of two sons who are both serving successfully in leadership and professional vocations. Aaron Joel and Hannah Farley (both Emmanuel University alumni) serve as Executive Student Pastor of Sagebrush Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he leads 1,500 students weekly and manages a team of 25 youth pastors across eight campuses. Aaron and Hannah recently made Brian and Heather grandparents of Psalm Jane Farley. Andrew Farley leads a team of software developers who produce applications for corporate clients. Thankfully, Andrew has been healed of “incurable” cancer and has recovered from a near fatal, heart valve failure in 2022.

Gift of Healing

After a miraculous healing of their son Andrew when he was a baby, the Farleys are so appreciative to the Lord for His healing touch on their ministry where more than 300 people have reported various levels of healing including healing of several “terminal” cancers.
